Born and raised in Utah with British roots, Laurel earned her bachelor’s degree from BYU Idaho while beginning her career in the technology and gaming industry, where she discovered a passion for helping people, solving problems, and creating meaningful connections. She is grateful to bring that experience to the BYU Office of Belonging.
When she’s away from work, Laurel is usually making memories with her daughter, singing a little too enthusiastically while trying new recipes, or dreaming up her next travel adventure. She’s learned that feeling at home has less to do with a place and more to do with the people around you. She believes a warm welcome, a good laugh, and a little genuine curiosity can go a long way.
