The BYU Belonging Committee, appointed by the university president, advises the Vice President of Belonging in matters related to promoting a community of covenant belonging at BYU and is deeply committed to assisting the university to achieve the lofty goals stated in the BYU Statement on Belonging. The committee uses this statement as a framework to discuss and make proposals for consideration by the Office of Belonging. The committee assists in promoting a learning environment and community of covenant belonging that is enlightened by living prophets and sustained by those moral virtues which characterize the life and teachings of the Son of God. In its work, the committee is in all ways committed to assisting the university in “Becoming BYU”: the Christ-centered, prophetically directed university of prophecy.
