Marissa Gilson grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona, playing softball, camping, and singing. In 2015, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education and was hired full-time at BYU. Marissa received a Master’s Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Southern Utah University in 2020. She works in the Office of Belonging, overseeing systems and operations, planning events and advising students. Marissa and her husband Jesse have been married since 2016. Jesse is from Canada and has introduced Marissa to many incredible things from his home country, but her favorite is poutine (french fries, gravy, and cheese curds). She loves quoting movies, curling up with a good book, and going out to eat with friends and family.
